Reiki and its benefits

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that helps the body reduce stress and relieve tension. It was created in the 1920s by Mikao Usui.
Practitioners place their hands lightly on or just above a person's body to reduce stress, ease pain, and help the body relax. It is non-invasive and has no harmful side effects. As the heart rate and blood pressure drop during a session, the body shifts from "fight or flight" mode into "rest and digest" mode. As the muscles relax - chronic pain can ease up. Some people feel less anxious and sleep better after the session.
If I wanted to sound more scientific, I could say - relaxing the mind helps the physical body recover as the immune system works at its best when the body is in parasympathetic mode.
There have been multiple clinical trials researching the efficacy of Reiki. Please look into a 2016 study published in the journal “Pain Medicine” which found Reiki was effective in reducing pain and improving sleep quality in patients with chronic pain.
I encourage you to carry out your own research or, better still, book a session and experience it for yourself. :-)
I understand that Reiki may seem unusual at first. It can be compared to listening to a calming piece of music - the music neither has any physical mass, nor can it be seen - but it can change your mood and how you feel. The subjective feeling of peace is real, even if the mechanism is simple.
Reiki is not a substitute for seeking professional medical care but is offered for relaxation and stress reduction, which support the body’s natural healing capabilities. Results vary by individual - so come and experience a reiki session for yourself to find out what effects it has on you.
